Richard Collette

President and CEO- MEDEL North America

Richard (Dick) Collette is the President and CEO of MED-EL Corporation’s North American office.  Dick joined MED-EL with more than a decade working with the FDA on the commercial release of new medical devices, QSR compliance, and customer/market development.  Dick shares MED-EL’s vision for innovative research and technology as well as the company’s mission for quality service and support.  With his leadership, MED-EL will continue to advance the technology of hearing implants, bring new and innovative products to the market, and enhance the level of service the company provides to hearing implant professionals and users throughout the United States and Canada.

Through an extensive management history with major corporations in the US and abroad, he has gained a broad experience base in Product Development and Launch, Quality Management, FDA Regulations, and CMS Reimbursement.  Prior to joining MED-EL, Dick served as the Director, Cardiology Project and Commercial Management for Inverness Medical Innovations, a division of Unipath, Ltd.  Based out of Bedford, England, he provided leadership to a new product concept market investigation team focused on cardiology therapy monitoring.  In the U.S., he previously held the position of Director for Hillenbrand Industries’ Hill-Rom Home Care Division’s Home Care Products and Engineering, managed sales operations for Agfa Medical’s radiology imaging systems as well as managed Helios Imaging Systems for Radiology at Sterling Diagnostic Imaging.  Additionally, Dick gained extensive expertise through his nearly twenty years of work in product engineering, operations, management and global new product launches at the Polaroid corporation.

Dick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, a Masters of Technology Management from the National Technology University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
